we celebrate Saint Patrick's Day . . .
we sometimes forget that Saint
Patrick from Ireland was one of the first successful Christian missionaries
of the early Middle Ages. Did you know that he was actually
born in Britain, captured as a slave for the Irish, escaped and
then came back to evangelize Ireland? Of course, there are
many legends of his activities and sadly the Leprechauns,
green beer and "luck of the Shamrock/Irish" have eclipsed his greater
mission of bringing the Gospel to Ireland. The shamrock was
used to explain the "Trinity" and to love our enemies enough to
return to almost certain imprisonment was an accomplishment few
can cite today.

ARABIC
TRANSLATIONS OF BIBLE BUILDING BLOCKS OF THE FAITH:
Yes! CMI has just received its
first copies of our Arabic translation of our early series, Series
A and B. Director Brad Winsted and his wife Fawn will be going
to the Middle East at the end of the month (Lord willing) to promote
these materials and push to have more. If you are interested
in helping with a tax deductible gift, let us know.
Now CMI has translations of its Bible Building Blocks of the
Faith in Spanish (all series), Russian (all series), Swedish
(all series), Bulgarian (some series), Turkish (some series), Arabic
(some series) and Czech (some series). Other missionary groups
have taken "blank visuals" and put in local languages like Tagalug
(Philippines), Swahili, Chinese and Japanese. These have been
done by nationals with missionary support.
